Air Quality
TAG Farnborough Airport undertakes Air Quality Monitoring at 13 sites around the airport boundary and in the local community. Nitrogen dioxide levels are recorded using both passive (thirteen stations) and active (2 stations) monitors with all data reported to the local Borough Council. All air quality data is assessed in line with the Local Air Quality Regulations.
Noise and Track Monitoring
TAG Farnborough Airport operates an integrated Noise and Track Monitoring System (NTMS). Noise monitoring is carried out using two fixed Noise Monitoring Terminals (NMT’s) which are located underneath the flight paths at either end of the runway. The fixed NMT’s record aircraft noise “events” within specific thresholds. All noise data is reported to the local Borough Council
Aircraft related noise is assessed through Noise Contour Modeling that is carried out twice yearly in accordance with the Planning Agreement and reported to the local Borough Council.
Track Monitoring is carried out on a daily basis in order to audit all TAG Farnborough Airport flight movements in terms of their adherence to the Noise Abatement Procedures. Data from Secondary Radar is coupled with Operational Movement Logs to create mapping of all TAG operated flights in the local area on arrival and departure. TAG operates an infringement procedure to address non adherence to the Noise Abatement Procedures. Repeat offences can result in restriction or even complete withdrawal of airport access.
Dedicated Reporting Line
TAG Farnborough Airport operates a Dedicated Reporting Line in order to address any questions or concerns local residents or any interested parties may have. The line is available 24 hours a day and can be used to record details of observations, experiences or submit specific questions. All reports received are responded to by letter, email or telephone and therefore users of the dedicated reporting line should leave appropriate contact details. A record of all reports and associated responses is kept on a TAG database. The telephone number is 01252 526001 or email: complaints@tagfarnborough.com

Chapter 3 & 4 Aircraft Only
All aircraft are catagorised through the Chapter system which rates aircraft on the noise output of their engines. There are currently four Chapter categories, Chapter 1 being the oldest and noisiest, through to Chapter 4 which is the most recent and quietest category, introduced on newly manufactured aircraft in 2006. As part of TAG’s commitment to reducing noise from aircraft operations, Chapter 1 and 2 aircraft have been banned from operating at the airport. Only Chapter 3 and 4 aircraft are permitted to operate with proof certification being a pre-requisite for all operations.
Community Project Funding
In accordance with the Rushmoor Borough Council Planning Agreement, funds are provided by TAG through a Community and Environmental Levy on all Business Aviation Movements. The levy is increased for operations of the largest aircraft at the Airport (over 50 tons). All funds from annual operations are presented to the local Council for use by environmental enhancement projects within areas surrounding the aerodrome.
