Crewing Specialist

SUMMARY OF POSITION

Reporting to the Crewing Manager, our Crewing Specialists are responsible for the effective maintenance of available crew resources from published rosters, resolving operational disruption through informed decision making, offering the most efficient solution available and ensuring regulatory & company requirements are met.

The Crewing Specialists provide clear and concise information to Crew members and maintain strong relationships with other departments within TAG. The crewing team are required to make timely and informed decisions, whilst always remaining safe and compliant. Excellent teamwork skills are essential, along with strong time management skills, due to the often highly pressurised environment.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITES/DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Maintenance of the crew rosters and communicating flight schedules to crew members
  • Calculating FDP requirements and liaising with Ground Operations and Crew to ensure plans are robust and compliant
  • Effective re-planning of crew resources to ensure maximum efficiency on the roster ensuring compliance and safety
  • Identification, resolution and, if required, the escalation of operational risk on the roster
  • Working closely with Flight Crew Training, sourcing freelance crew and monitoring crew training legalities
  • Effective and timely communication within the team, Cabin Crew & Pilots and key areas of the business
  • Completion of daily, weekly & monthly tasks as per check lists and departmental procedures
  • Facilitate crew visa applications
  • Assist with crew travel queries, liaising with external companies when necessary
  • Provide in depth handovers to members of the Crewing Team and other departments
  • Represent and promote the Crewing Team during company updates/meetings
  • Ensuring compliance in Company SOPs, remaining safe and in line with TAG SPIRIT values
  • As is reasonably required by the Crewing Manager/ Duty Manager – Crewing, undertake additional tasks and activities that further enhance, support the output of the department

 

ESSENTIAL COMPETENCIES  

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in an Aviation Operations Control Centre
  • Good geographical knowledge
  • High level of spoken and written English
  • Knowledge and understanding of Flight Time Limitations and scheduling systems
  • A good problem solver who works well under pressure due to the ever-changing environment
  • Excellent communicator who can prioritise workload and influence others
  • Great decision making
  • Understanding of Flight Crew training
  • Experience of Word, Excel & Outlook, and crewing/scheduling software
