1960s
1966Creation of AeroleasingAeroleasing (ALG) works with third-party aircraft which it also leased (charter flights). It all begins with a twin-engine Piper Aztec aircraft.

A phase of expansion ensues with IOS (Investors Overseas Services - Bernard Cornfeld). Business jet activities begin as well as a Convair CV-240 aircraft equipped as an executive version with its long bar. This period of time sees TAG achieving tremendous expansion and growth.

1970s
1970The first roadblocks arise with the loss of a major customer, IOS. After several difficult years, from 1972 onwards, things begin to improve.History cardALG Flight Attendants, 1970's.

1975First Long-distance Flight on a Falcon 201975 marks the year during which the first long-distance flight on a Falcon 20 (approximately 3.5h range) is operated. The flight is realised between Geneva and Singapore via Istanbul, Ankara, Tehran, Karachi, Islamabad, Calcutta, Rangoon, Bangkok, to finally land in Singapore.

1978Aeroleasing starts Health and Sanitary Operations Aeroleasing starts health and sanitary operations which would become an important part of operations with very sensitive missions for the TCS and SOS Assistance, of which Aeroleasing was one of the founding members.History cardMedical Operations, 1970's.

Aeroleasing becomes a go-to in the transportation of stars and political personalities, such as the IOC, United Nations, Red Cross, Johnny Halliday, Herbert von Karajan, Frank Sinatra, Julie Andrews, Kurt Waldheim, Perez de Cuellar, Gunther Sachs (Opel), Cornelio Somaruga, Brigitte Bardot, Pete Sampras, Alain Delon, and Björn Borg, to name a few.

History cardAeroleasing completes an Around-the-world flight in a Piper Cheyenne for the first journey through the Soviet territory on a private plane, 1980.
1981Arrival of Elie Bazbaz who would super-charged the growth of TAG by developing a significant internal fleet ranging from small Learjets to Falcons 20 - 50 - 2000 - 900, Challenger 601, and even two DC-9s. TAG also goes through a major international expansion in all the continents (Asia, Africa, North America, and Eastern Europe). 1986Aeroleasing completes the 1st Around the World tour in 68 hours on an F50 for medical repatriation missions.History cardFirst Round-the-World Tour for SOS Assistance, 1986.

1988ALG is awarded the Nobel Prize together with the UNGOMAPUNO leases a DC-9 to ALG for UNGOMAP missions between Pakistan and Afghanistan, which starts to take on a number of complicated missions in this region for the transportation of people and key supplies.

The Nobel Peace Prize is conferred upon the peacekeeping forces of the United Nations. ALG is awarded the Nobel Prize together with the UNGOMAP.

1990s
1991Takeover of Transair and Executive Jet AviationTAG reached a growth peak in 1991, having amassed 440 people following the takeover of Transair and Executive Jet Aviation of Hawaii.

The economic crisis hits and a series of hardships ensues. Things escalate up until Mr Bazbaz left the company in 1994, a signed moratorium with the creditors and the arrival of Stephen Grey who would reorganise the company’s operations, radically reducing the fleet from 31 to 15 aircraft. Thankfully, the loss-making subsidiaries are closed and the profitability of the company is eventually restored.

1998TAG Aviation Holding is incorporatedTAG Aviation Holding is incorporated, followed by the acquisition of Aeroleasing which would be renamed TAG Aviation SA, then AMI Aviation Methods in the USA (which would be renamed TAG Aviation USA). An agreement is also signed with the MoD in England, the purpose being to sign a leasing agreement with Farnborough airport and its subsequent development as a European centre for business aviation.History cardRoger McMullin named as CEO of TAG Aviation, 1998.
2000s
2000TAG Aviation UK is established in FarnboroughTAG completes the first development phase of TAG Farnborough Airport with the English CAA issuing a 1st category ICAO type operating licence.

2001TAG reclaims its roots and returns to a business model based on Aircraft ManagementThe explosion of the economic bubble severely affects the economy. TAG further reduces the directly owned fleet and focuses on aircraft management for third parties and their provision for charter flights.

2008Sale of TAG Aviation USA to Sentient JetThe subprime mortgage crisis also significantly affects TAG's activities and accelerates the sale of the fleet directly owned by TAG Aviation. Despite this difficult period, TAG soldiers on and continue with the construction of its new headquarters in Geneva.

2010s
2010Opening of TAG Aviation Middle East in BahrainTAG Aviation obtains an air operator's certificate (AOC) from the Kingdom of Bahrain and starts providing air charter and line maintenance in December 2010. History cardTAG Aviation in Bahrain, 2010.
New European Headquarter in Geneva, SwitzerlandIn November 2010, the company inaugurates its new headquarters in Geneva with a new 4,400 m2 hangar for maintenance operations and 2,700 m2 of office space.History cardTAG Aviation Geneva headquarter, 2010's.
Official HondaJet DealerTAG becomes the exclusive reseller of HondaJet for the Northern Europe.

TAG renews this alliance with HondaJet in 2015 but with Southern Europe as territory before terminating this agreement few years later.

2017TAG Aviation Malta is established TAG Europe receives the AOC from the Transport Malta - Civil Aviation Directorate (TMCAD). The granting of the Maltese AOC reaffirms TAG’s commitment to continue its expansion into new EU territories and provide its customers with an unrivaled choice in aircraft commercial registration.

TAG Aviation San Marino is established and issued with San Marino AOCTAG has been officially recognized as the largest Aircraft Operator by the San Marino Aircraft Registry.
2019European MRO activities are acquired by DassaultTAG announces the sale of its European-based MRO activities to Dassault Aviation; a further testimony to its highly regarded culture of excellence and esteemed business reputation.

The maintenance activities will continue to operate under the name ‘TAG Maintenance Services, a Dassault Aviation company’, allowing TAG to focus on the ongoing expansion of its core business sectors; Aircraft Acquisition, Aircraft Management, Charter Services and other Support Services, such as Handling Services and Training.

TAG Farnborough Airport transferred to Macquarie Group LimitedIn October 2019, TAG Farnborough Airport is acquired by Macquarie, an Australian company with a large portfolio of worldwide airport infrastructure investments and FBO operations.

Under TAG ownership, Farnborough handles over 30,000 air traffic movements each year, becoming the world’s first business airport to receive carbon neutral status, and is regularly voted Europe’s best FBO facility. The sale allows TAG to further develop its offering in other key business aviation sectors.
