Pioneers in the field of private jet travel, Aeroleasing of Geneva starts its operations as an air charter and maintenance company.

1998 TAG Aviation is born

The TAG Group acquires Aeroleasing of Geneva and other aviation companies to create TAG Aviation, with its headquarters in Geneva. With a business model oriented towards air charter, aircraft management and maintenance, TAG Aviation's innovative approach to private jet travel sets new standards within the industry.

TAG Aviation UK is established

1998 TAG Aviation UK is established

TAG Aviation sets up its UK operation, offering its clients the same high levels of service that they experience in Geneva. Along with air charter, aircraft management and FBO/Handling, TAG Farnborough Maintenance Services now provides maintenance services at the airport. In 1999, TAG Aviation wins the tender to operate Farnborough Airport and commits to build new facilities (hangars, terminal and parking) over the next five years.

2005 TAG Aviation Spain opens in Madrid

TAG Aviation expands its European presence by opening facilities in Spain. Charter services, aircraft management and line maintenance are now provided at Barrajas Airport, near Madrid, and clients benefit from the full range of bespoke, total care solutions for which TAG Aviation is internationally renowned. As part of a broader move to consolidate aircraft operations under a limited number of strategic AOCs, TAG Aviation's Madrid office closed in 2017.

TAG Aviation Asia opens in Hong Kong, providing personalised, industry-leading standards of private aviation throughout the Asia-Pacific region. TAG Aviation Asia is able to draw on the expertise and scope of its parent company to deliver unparalleled levels of aircraft management, charter and maintenance services to its clientele.

2007 TAG Global Training Centre opens at Farnborough Airport.

TAG Global Training is set up to train both pilots and cabin crew. The training has all the necessary governmental approvals, and all courses are conducted at Farnborough Airport. This means that students can complete all their courses in one location - a state-of-the-art, purpose-built facility that has all the latest teaching amenities and equipment, and an unrivaled reputation for training excellence.

TAG Aviation builds new headquarters in Geneva

2010 TAG Aviation builds new headquarters in Geneva

TAG Aviation opens up its new, purpose-built headquarters in Geneva. Two years in construction, this four story building now provides 7,500 square meters of office space for the 460 employees who work there. In addition, the company's two maintenance hangars are completely reconstructed so that a massive 6,000 square meters of space is now dedicated to aircraft servicing and maintenance, allowing for 14 aircraft to undergo service at the same time.

2010 TAG Aviation Middle East opens in Bahrain.

In response to the growing demand for private jet travel in the Middle East, Bahrain is chosen as the hub for TAG Aviation Middle East. In December 2010, TAG Aviation obtains an air operator's certificate (AOC) from the Kingdom of Bahrain and starts providing air charter and line maintenance. The kingdom's historic dedication to civil aviation and its gateway position to the Gulf region make it the ideal location.

TAG Aviation's FBO/Handling and maintenance facility opens in Sion, Switzerland.

To expand its services beyond Geneva and better serve its clients' aviation needs, TAG Aviation establishes a new facility in Sion, Switzerland. The centre features a passenger terminal with three spacious lounges and a dedicated pilot suite, a specially built hangar dedicated to aircraft storage and maintenance, and 12,000 square meter for aircraft parking. Sion's attractive location provides clients with easy access to many of Europe's most exclusive ski resorts.

2017 TAG Aviation Europe expands with the addition of a Maltese AOC

In March 2017, TAG Aviation Europe receives the AOC from the Transport Malta - Civil Aviation Directorate (TMCAD). The granting of the Maltese AOC reaffirms TAG’s commitment to continue its expansion into new EU territories and provide its customers with an attractive choice of aircraft commercial registration.



TAG Aviation announces the sale of its European-based MRO activities to Dassault Aviation; a further testimony to the company’s highly regarded culture of excellence and esteemed business reputation.

The maintenance activities will continue to operate under the name ‘TAG Maintenance Services, a Dassault Aviation company’, allowing TAG to focus on the ongoing expansion of its core business sectors; Aircraft Acquisition, Aircraft Management, Charter Services, Handling Services and Training.

2019 TAG Farnborough Airport transferred to Macquarie Group control

In October 2019, TAG Farnborough Airport is acquired by Macquarie, an Australian company with a large portfolio of worldwide airport infrastructure investments and FBO operations.

Under TAG ownership, Farnborough handled over 30,000 air traffic movements each year, became the world’s first business airport to receive carbon neutral status, and was regularly voted Europe’s best FBO facility. The sale allows TAG to further develop its offering in other key business aviation sectors.
